Iunik Rose Galactomyces Toner Review
Iunik Is The New K-beauty Label Taking Over Instagram. With Their Minimalist Packaging And Products Packed Full Of Hit Korean Skincare Ingredients, It’s Little Wonder Iunik Is Being Favourably Compared To Everything From Cosrx To Ljh (Lee Gee Ham).
One of the product lines that caught our eye was the Rose Galactomyces collection, featuring a toner and serum based on rose water with galactomyces. Today, we’re giving you our iUNIK Rose Galactomyces Toner review.
iUNIK’s Rose Galactomyces Essential Toner is a post-cleanse toner for oily skin that comes in a giant 200ml bottle. It’s made of a very sturdy plastic container with a hygienic dispenser cap.
It claims to have acne-fighting, skin brightening and anti-ageing properties.
Like iUNIK’s other products, the ingredients in the formula are what really stand out – minimalism is the aim of the game here, namely packing as many good ingredients as you can into a rich, balanced formula.
The key ingredient is rose flower water, which makes up 70% of the formula. This is followed by galactomyces filtrate, at 10%.
Rose flower water has a range of benefits for the skin, helping to balance skin’s pH levels and providing skin conditioning benefits. It also has antioxidant benefits and is known to assist with a range of common skin problems thanks to it’s anti-inflammatory properties.
Galactomyces is undoubtedly one of K-Beauty’s favourite ingredients and for good reason – it offers anti-ageing, balancing, brightening and hydrating benefits. Being a ferment, it is also rich in nutrients, vitamins and amino-acids.
Other noticeable ingredients in the formula include adenosine, which has anti-ageing benefits, and licorice extract, which assists to brighten the complexion.
Also noticeable is what’s not in the formula, namely parabens, sulphates and alcohol. This makes it perfect for the Korean 7 Skins Method, as well as anyone who’s sensitive to alcohols.
Simply pop it on after cleansing. You can use a cotton pad or your hands, although it is quite runny. If you’re doing the 7 skins method, try doing the first layer using a cotton pad and the remaining layers by splashing the toner over your face with your hands.
The toner is lightweight and watery and sinks into the skin quickly. It has a light and inoffensive rose scent.
After using it, we noticed our skin immediately felt hydrated and looked much softer.
After two months of regular use, our skins were hydrated, soft and nicely balanced. There’s no doubt the formula helps oily skin to balance it’s oil and moisture levels; acne-prone skin also showed a reduction in whiteheads.
Having tested it out, we concluded that while it can work on drier skin types (certainly in summer), it’s arguably best suited to:
People with oily and combination skin types – it’s a great toner to balance out your oil and sebum levels, and offers just the right amount of hydration and moisture.
People with whiteheads – the formula assists to reduce whiteheads, and we noticed a reduction of congestion and dead skin when using it.
