Plant-based ingredients continue to be popular in Korean beauty because they tap into consumers’ desires for vegan beauty and are seen as more sustainable. In addition, they appeal to brands’ “clean beauty” credentials and consumers’ beliefs that natural ingredients are better for the skin.
Difference between Cruelty Free and Vegan beauty products?
Contrary to popular belief, vegan is not the same thing as cruelty-free, although vegan products may be cruelty free.

Why Are Korean Brands So Obsessed with Plant Based Ingredients?
In a nutshell it has to do with the popularity of the EWG green-grade rating system, plus the increasing popularity of vegan beauty.
