Are K-Beauty’s Multi Sticks About to Go Global?
I saw an interesting discussion about a Kbeauty trend that is looking set to go global in Cosmetics Business. In particular, they were discussing multi balms (aka multi sticks). The product that launched a thousand dupes was Kahi Multi Balm. It's gone viral on TikTok and I've seen a lot of discussion from global beauty fans who either love it or don't recommend it.
Whether you love this product or not will really depend on your skin type and the climate you live in. It works better for people experiencing dull, rough or dry skin and people in drier, harsher climates. It is less suitable for people in tropical environments or with oily, acne prone skin.
However, a lot of brands are now launching other versions that are more suitable for different skin types and climates, including Charmzone Vita Brightening Stick. This one has 30% Vitamin Cfor brightening, as well as Centella asiatica.
Question of the Week: What do you recommend for redness on the cheeks?
Our listener said that she's female, 32 and has pale skin.
Depends on the Cause of the Redness
-
Rosacea - learn your triggers and try and avoid them. Unfortunately this condition is very common among women with pale skin and often symptoms appear from the 30s onwards.
-
If the redness is left over from acne - Dr Jart Color Correcting Cream is a good option to provide coverage during the day. I’d recommend trying Vitamin C in the morning and Niacinamide at night to help.
-
If the redness is caused by over-exfoliation the key is barrier repair. Cut out all actives (i.e. BHAs, AHAs, retinol, scrubs etc) and focus on hydration instead.
