Blogger Spotlight: Rosalind Blog

STYLE STORY is rounding up our favourite Aussie bloggers to talk through the Korean Beauty products they love and how their skincare routines have been inspired by the latest Korean skincare trends!

We’ve previously spoken with Yads from Clean Beauty Talk, Dani Smith from Dani the Girl Xo and Nurul from Mask Mix Beauty.

This week we’re speaking to instagram blogger Rosalind from @rosalindblog.

How Did You Discover Korean Beauty?

“Thanks to my sister, I got into K-Pop and fell in love with Girl’s Generation. They were the ones that introduced me to Korean Beauty through their CFs (Commercial Films). Eventually, I started watching videos from YouTubers about K-beauty products and K-beauty shows and so, here I am now!”

What’s Your Skin Type And Concerns?

“I have sensitive, oily but dehydrated skin. My main concerns are pimples, expression lines and enlarged pores. Since the UV rays and Australian sun is so strong, I’m concerned about the sun spots that I get as well.”

What Is The First K-beauty Product Or Brand You Ever Tried?

“The first K-beauty product that I’ve tried is Nature Republic’s 92% Aloe Vera Gel. Everyone was raving about it and I needed something light, moisturising and affordable.”

What Are Your Top 3 Korean Beauty Products And Why?

“Oh gosh, how can I ever choose~ But if I really have to narrow it down, I’d say my top 3 Korean beauty products are:

1. INNISFREE lipsticksI can’t choose one because I’m a lipstick addict! Innisfree lip products are amazing quality for the price, they come in a huge range of shades and feel so comfortable on the lips.

2. COSRX Perfect Sebum Centella Mineral PowderI love no-sebum loose powders. They are compact, effective and multi-functional. I use it as a dry shampoo for my oily scalp, to set my makeup and remove the oil and shine.

3. Benton Tea Tree MistWatery, light mists/toners are the best for oily, dehydrated skin and for layering. This one is affordable, comes in a convenient spray packaging, and contains great ingredients to help reduce pimples, inflammations and hydrates at the same time. I’ve gone through like 3 of them already since I use them so much, especially during summer.”

What’s The Strangest Korean Ingredient You’ve Ever Tried?

“Definitely snail mucin!

I was completely grossed out the first time I heard about it, I mean slimey snail mucus? Ewww… However, I was introduced to Swanicoco’s Fermentation Snail Care Skin Toner and it helped my sensitive skin so much that I just fell in love with it. Never judge an ingredient by it’s name!”

What’s One Thing K-beauty Has Taught You And How Have You Incorporated It Into Your Routine?

“The one thing that is very different in K-beauty is how much emphasis is put into having a good, solid skincare routine. No matter how much makeup you put on, if you have a good base for it to go on, your makeup will always look amazing.

Because of that, I’ve learned to always focus on my skincare routine. When I am in a rush in the morning, I will still make sure to apply my skincare and wear my sunscreen (another important step in K-beauty!) before I head out of the door. I’d rather skip doing my makeup but I would never skip my skincare routine.”

If You Could Gift One K-beauty Product To Your Bff For Christmas What Would It Be And Why?

“I would gift my BFF the KLAIR’S Supple Preparation Facial Toner! It is a liquidy toner that is suitable for all skin types, light enough to be layered on, free of harmful ingredients and moisturising enough to be used on its own even without a face cream.

But to be honest, I doubt I can ever just gift ONE K-beauty product to my BFF.”
