Summer Skin Care Routine For Oily/Acne Prone Skin?
When the temperature rises and the humidity kicks in it can spell disaster for oily skin. Worrying about greasy skin or extra breakouts is not on our holiday "To Do" list so let’s put the spotlight on some of our Go To Summer Skincare for Oily/Acne Prone Skin.
Just because our skin is oily doesn’t mean we need to overdo it with cleansing. Twice a day is all you need. Don't be tempted to cleanse more than this because if you over cleanse your face you can end up damaging your skin's barrier. This can contribute to irritation and redness and even end up producing more sebum. Not ideal.
Try Cinnamon Toast Sugar Scrub Foam for a multifunctional product that not only cleanses, but also exfoliates your lips, face and body. Did we mention it was just chosen by Women's Health Magazine as the "Best K-Beauty Scrub"?
Meet your new best friend, Subi Holo Dream Pore Minimising Mask. This dreamy girl does it all – detoxifying, skin brightening, pore tightening and texture refining.
Formulated with Australia Kakadu Plum, Ceramides, Sodium Hyaluronate and Kaolin it's perfect for before bed or before your makeup. Added bonus? 100% alcohol-free, fragrance free and cruelty free. Oh, and the packaging is AMAZING.
If you haven’t already tried Dewy Glaze Toner, it's time.
This cult favourite 2-in-1 essence toner works to nourish, prep and hydrate your skin from the first step after cleansing.
Best of all, she's perfect for the 7 Skins method, which cuts out on unnecessary products while giving you that jelly skin glow.
Summer skincare needs a lightweight gel textured serum and Be Jelly Overnight Dream is that girl. This jelly-textured retinol collagen serum transforms your skin's tone and texture in just weeks, taking care of stubborn blemishes, milia and textural issues as well as patches of dark discoloration.
Word of warning. As with all retinoids this can cause your skin to be more affected by UV rays and prone to sunburn (read here for more retinol side effects) so if you are someone who loves to be outdoors in summer or you have quite pale skin ensure that you use this in conjunction with sunscreen.
Use it every other day for two weeks when introducing it into your routine and ditch the scrubs and peeling products – your skin won’t need them.
Whenever possible, use it at night.
This is also a good time to remind everyone that just because you have oily skin doesn’t mean you should skip the sunscreen! Choose a lightweight, non-sticky sunscreen for your morning routine.
If you haven’t added a sleeping mask into your routine, it’s time to get on board. Who doesn’t want a hard-hitting formulation that works while you sleep?
Our favourite? Jelly Ko Cherry Blossom Sleeping Mask, of course. But don't worry, she's not only our favourite, she's also the pick of sleep masks by the Beauty Awards panel at Prevention Magazine.
Packed with Cherry Blossom (known for its antioxidant properties), Niacinamide and Vitamin B5 a little goes a long way.
Simply pop on a sparing amount about 30 minutes before bed and wake up to dewy, plump skin.
Added bonus? It has a nice cooling effect, perfect for summer nights.
If you have active breakouts, Subi Perfect Pimple Patches are the answer.
"Perfect" is in the name for a reason.
These almost invisible stickers are made of hydrocolloid which speeds up healing and prevents scarring. These hydrocolloid patches bring out the infection while keeping the spot covered and protected from dirt (and fingers).
Don’t worry about sweating these ones off in the summer heat, we’ve worn them to Hot Yoga before and they survived 40 degrees. These stickers mean absolute business.
