Looking For An Alternative To The Pricey Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant? Meet Tosowoong Enzyme Power Wash! It’s A Quarter Of The Cost And Less Harsh On Skin, Making It Perfect For Daily Cleansing.
Our community is always asking us for K-beauty dupes for popular pricey products. So when we discovered this one by accident we knew we had to share it with you!
Brisbane beauty blogger Mel picked up Tosowoong’s Enzyme Powder Wash and after using it, realised that not only was it similar to Dermalogica’s pricey Daily Microfoliant, it was also far less harsh on her skin and better suited to daily use.
Her advice?
Save your Dermalogica for when you actually need to exfoliate, and swap in Tosowoong Enzyme Powder Wash as your new daily cleanser!

Tosowoong’s powder wash has reached cult status in its own right, being a favourite K-Beauty product on many beauty shelves for years. With a perfectly balanced pH of 5.5, it’s not hard to see why – it works wonders on sensitive, hypo-allergenic and acne-prone skin, while also preserving the skin’s delicate acid mantle. It works to eliminate waste in the pores, cleanses skin thoroughly but doesn’t strip skin of its natural oils or dry it out.
The benefit of powder washes is that they come in dry form, which makes them perfect for travelling.
Enzyme powder washes are designed to be used in place of your regular face wash. You simply apply them to a damp face and when they come in contact with water they dissolve into a rich lather with just a touch of customizable grittiness. For a milder exfoliation, foam a bit of powder with water in the palm of your hand before applying. For a deeper exfoliation, dampen the powder for a moment before massaging it into your face.
Powder washes skip out on water, meaning their formulas go much further than their liquid counterparts. And, because they’re dry, bacteria and mould have a very difficult time growing in them, which is a win in our books!
Both Tosowoong and Dermalogica contain similar star ingredients, including papain, licorice extracts and starches.
Papain is an enzyme found in papaya. It’s a mild enzyme exfoliant that helps soften skin to make it silky smooth.
Licorice is a well-known plant extract that helps balance uneven skin tone, making it a great ingredient for skin brightening, particularly for those suffering from pigmentation.
If you’re interested in stepping into the world of powder washes, looking for a K-Beauty dupe for Dermalogica or even just a more affordable option than the cleanser you already use, Tosowoong is our go-to choice.
The handy packaging, easy to use and gentle formula and price point makes this cleanser a winner.
