The push towards natural and fermented cosmetics continues, as does the never-ending obsession with the latest and greatest in face mask technologies! At this year’s Cosmo Beauty Expo we saw 24k gold foil duck egg face masks from Gamdong, X-lifting masks from Boutique Bejour made of bandage technology and a wide range of modelling rubber masks, including sherbet ones from Elmolu.
One other thing we noticed is the push towards smaller batch, handmade items with some gorgeous handmade cleansers and soaps from brands like CNKCOS.
Also attending this year’s Expo were companies specialising in cosmetic packaging, accessories (like sponges and brushes), mask-making factories, nail art products, spa equipment and more!
You may have already seen them on our Instagram stories, but we’re dying to share some of our favourite new finds from the Cosmo Beauty Expo with you!
As always with K-Beauty, there were plenty of innovative new ingredients, with face masks made of duck eggs, hydrogel masks containing sea cucumbers, serums with nana plant (a type of dwarf bamboo!) and wild mango beauty supplements.
We saw so many hit new products we almost didn’t know where to start! Some of our favourites were:
CNKCOS is a Korean Beauty company that hand-makes natural cosmetics. It’s stand out products are colourful little cleansing beans that come in several types, packaged in beautiful jars. Each bean contains a specific type of cleanser – some are for the face and others are for the body.
The cleansers work to target specific issues like makeup removal, sensitivity and lack of firmness. The pink beans supply brightness to dull skin and provide rich vitamins and minerals; the blue beans target large, visible pores and moisturise the skin; the green beans are for sensitive skin and ideal to apply after hair removal; the black beans take care of impurities in the skin. The beans are light enough to take with you in your handbag and are perfect for travel!
Wish Formula creates fermented cosmetics made from clinically proven ingredients. The brand’s products are in over 1,500 clinics and hospitals in Korea, and the collection includes fermented peeling products, cleansers, toners, serums and masks. Its bestselling products include the Bubble Peeling Pad, I’m Pro Ampoule Pad, Bat Eye Mask and Blackhead Home Spa Kit.
Our favourite was the adorable Bat Eye Mask, a 100% cotton sheet mask that treats wrinkles, dark circles, and bags. It contains Vitamin C and Fermented Honey to brighten and hydrate, and other fermented ingredients fade dark circles, shrink fine lines, and firm up saggy skin over time.
We also caught up with one of our own STYLE STORY brands Soroci, makers of natural skincare that uses only beneficial ingredients with no harmful or unnecessary fillers.
Their packaging is not only gorgeous but also highly functional – SOROCI products are packaged in airless pump containers to maintain the potency of the ingredients.
Our product testing for the new labels we discovered at the K-Beauty Expo has just begun! Keep an eye out on STYLE STORY for new Korean beauty products on our website soon.
