STYLE STORY was excited to see two of our all-time favourite sheet masks in the mix among Elle Magazine’s favourite Korean sheet masks.ELLE’S FAVOURITE KOREAN MASKS

Elle reporter Ana Eksouzian-Cavadas noted: “When it comes to cutting edge skincare products, the Korean beauty industry has its competitors beat. If your skin is lacklustre, their vitamin C serums will take care of that. Blemishes getting you down? Give their intensive ‘Glass Skin’ regime a whirl.”

Among Elle’s list of favourites were two STYLE STORY best-sellers:

Benton Snail Bee High Content Mask Pack

Natural Korean Beauty label Benton combines cruelty-free formulas with natural ingredients that pack a punch.

Containing K-beauty favourites snail mucin and bee venom, this cult-favourite cotton sheet mask calms redness, evens out skin tone, brightens the complexion, increases the skin’s elasticity, locks in moisture, and boost your skin’s production of collagen and elastin.

It even works to fade acne scars and reduce hyper-pigmentation, and is certified cruelty-free by PETA.

Leaders Insolution Aquaringer Mask

Like everyone else in Seoul, STYLE STORY Founder Lauren Lee is partial to a face mask, regularly incorporating sheet masks and modelling masks into her skincare routine. Her top tips for getting the most out of your face mask:

Lauren’s Tips For Getting The Most Out Of Your Face Mask

Leaders is a skin clinic in Seoul set up by a group of the city’s best dermatologists and they know how to make a mask or two! Hundreds of millions of Leaders Insolution Aquaringer sheet masks are sold are around the world each year! The mask delivers intense hydration and nutrients to the skin to plump and soften the skin, diminish dead skin cells and improve the look of fine lines.

1. Start with a clean face

The best time to mask is after you’ve cleansed and toned your face – use your essence before your mask too if you use one. Then, apply your sheet mask according to the packet instructions, usually between 15 – 30 minutes.

2. Don’t leave your mask on until it goes dry

Although it can be tempting to leave your mask on for as long as possible, try not to leave it on until it goes dry (or fall asleep in it!) The mask is supposed to impart its moisture and essence onto your face, but if you let it dry out it can actually do the opposite and start drawing hydration away from your face; that’s not what you want.

3. Don’t wash your face afterwards

Korean face masks work best when they are applied as layers in your skincare routine. You don’t need to wash your face after using one – in fact, this is the best part of the mask, where the essence and active ingredients are!

Pat any remaining essence into your skin after masking and once your face is no longer wet, continue to apply your serum and moisturiser.

4. Mask as often as you can!

Koreans love dewy, even-toned skin and the best way to guarantee that without a visit to a dermatologist is to incorporate facial treatments like masks into your daily skincare routine. There’s no problem with masking every day – just make sure you pick the right face mask for your skin type.

Masks are a great way to carve a little “me time” out for yourself in your daily routine, but even if you don’t have time to sit down while you do it, you can multitask with a mask on-the-go!
