SkII Facial Treatment Essence Dupe Review
Aussie Beauty Blogger Hannah Englishrecently tested out two of STYLE STORY’s K-Beauty products that contain THE SAME INGREDIENT as SKII’s much pricier Facial Treatment Essence. Could they substitute for it?
Here’s Hannah’s SKII Facial Treatment Essence dupe review.
COSRX Galactomyces Whitening Essence and Elizavecca Galactomyces 97% Serum.
Galactomyces ferment filtrate.
Why?
“It has antioxidant effects and moisturising effects, and helps maintain barrier function (Kataoka, Hattori, and Tamura, 2013).”
“The texture of the SKII is the most watery, Elizavecca is a little more viscous and as one would expect, the CosRx is more viscous again owing to the presence of sodium hyaluronate…
I think the Elizavecca and SKII are interchangeable, both watery and can be used as a hydrating toner essence. The Elizavecca is MUCH more natural if that’s your jam. Natural is not my jam but my philosophy is: the shorter the ingredients list, the better. The CosRx owing to its ingredient list (below) could be used in the serum step of your regimen.”
“I would repurchase both, the Elizavecca as a hydrating toner step and the CosRx as an all encompassing serum. I would never purchase the SKII Facial Treatment Essence – although I think they paved the way for fermentation in mainstream skincare, I cannot reconcile the price with the ingredient list given the options available.”
Ingredients: Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Butylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol, Water, Sodium Benzoate, Methylparaben, Sorbic Acid.
Ingredients: Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Niacinamide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Betaine, Panthenol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Allantoin, Butylene Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Ethyl Hexanediol, Adenosine."
