Name: Jasmine
Skin type: Combination/Dry Skin
Skin goals: To prevent acne, minimise fine lines (forehead wrinkles!) and reduce blackheads
Fun fact about my skincare: I love products that have a nice scent, and I am a newly-converted Clarisonic believer.
Because I didn’t take care of my skin earlier on, I’ve already noticed fine lines appearing; I blame this on not wearing sunblock. Blackheads are also a concern, along with monthly hormonal breakouts.
I am not a morning person but I am motivated to take care of my skin in the morning!
I start by washing my face with lukewarm water, followed by Son & Park Beauty Water. I absolutely adore the scent of this.
Next, I use MISSHA First Treatment Essence Mist, which is convenient and easy to apply.
I moisturise with SK-II Essential Power Moisturising Cream, which has a soft texture and keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day.
For sunblock, I use MISSHA’s All Around Safe Block Essence Sun Milk SPF50+, which suits my dry skin well. It is lightweight and doesn’t smell like normal sunscreen.
I remove eye makeup with Missha Green Tea Lip and Eye Make Up Remover, which doesn’t irritate my skin.
I have only just started doing the Korean Double Cleansing method, but I’m loving it!
First, I use Muji Cleansing Oil.Then I use a foam cleanser with my Clarisonic.
Once or twice a week I exfoliate with either Skinfood’s Black Sugar Maskor Innisfree’s Volcanic Pore Clay Mask.
I tone using Etude House Moistfull Collagen Facial Toner, which is quite thick and leaves my skin soft.
To tackle my blackheads, I love COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid. I use it 3 times a week and on the other days, I apply Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Cas a spot treatment for my acne scars.
Next, I apply Missha Time Revolution Treatment Essenceto hydrate and improve my skin tone.
I also use Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Activator Ampoule, which is a “superpower” vitamin for my skin!
When I first started using Korean skincare, I skipped moisturiser and just used my Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. However, I’ve realised that moisturising is an essential step to “lock in” all the “goodies” that I have applied in my previous steps. SK-II Essential Power Moisturising Cream is by far the best moisturizer for my dry skin.
I am currently trying out a new eye cream – COSRX Honey Ceramide Eye Cream.
I end my skin care routine with Missha Cell Renew Snail Cream, which moisturises and increases my skin’s firmness.
I have just started the famous “Korean Double Cleanse method” and it has shown good results. I use an oil cleanser, followed by a foam cleanser with my Clarisonic.
The thought of putting snail mucin extract on my face put me off for a while. When I finally tried it, I realised that products containing snail mucin extract work wonders in healing and repairing your skin. I love this!
Korean skincare products are less harsh than Western products on my skin. They contain mostly natural or botanical-based ingredients. I appreciate the Korean focus on healing the condition of the skin and preventing impurities. I also love KPop and Kdrama! I’ve got mum trying out Korean skincare products and I am happy to say she is a Korean skincare lover now too.
