Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream Review

If you have very dry skin, you’ll know that not every moisturiser is up to the job.

Some creams sit on the surface, some disappear too quickly, and some feel rich without really making your skin feel more comfortable for long.

Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream has long been one of the better-known Korean moisturisers for dry skin, especially among people looking for something richer and more protective. But while it does have its strengths, it’s not necessarily the most elegant or up-to-date option on the market anymore.

What Is It?

Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream is a barrier-focused moisturiser designed for dry, tight and flaky skin.

It comes in a 50ml tube with a twist cap, which does make it practical for travel and everyday use.

What Does It Claim To Do?

Dr Jart says the cream is “supercharged with 5-cera complex” to help strengthen the skin barrier and reduce moisture loss.

In other words, this is meant to be the kind of cream you reach for when your skin feels compromised, uncomfortable or chronically dry.

What’s In It?

The formula includes multiple ceramides, cholesterol, beta-glucan, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate and oat extract, all of which make sense in a moisturiser aimed at dry, barrier-impaired skin.

Compared with older versions of Ceramidin Cream, this formula includes more ceramides, which is a definite plus if barrier support is your main concern.

That said, it’s not the simplest formula in the world. It also contains essential oils like bergamot, geranium, sage and patchouli, which may not be ideal for everyone, particularly if your skin is reactive or sensitive skincare.

So while it does contain some genuinely useful ingredients for dryness, it’s not necessarily the formula we’d reach for first if sensitivity is part of the equation too.

How Do You Use It?

Use it as the final step in your basic skincare routine after toner, serum and any lighter lotions or essences.

The texture is thick and cushiony, and it does feel like it forms a protective layer over the skin.

For very dry skin, that may feel comforting. But if you prefer a moisturiser with a more refined finish, or one that feels a little more breathable on the skin, this may come across as heavier than necessary.

What Results Will You Notice?

Ceramidin Cream does a decent job of reducing that tight, uncomfortable feeling that comes with dryness. It can help skin feel softer and more cushioned after application, particularly if your barrier is feeling rough or depleted.

The main downside is that the finish can feel a little dense compared with newer moisturisers now on the market. So while it works, it doesn’t necessarily feel as cosmetically elegant as some of the newer-generation Korean creams available now.

In short, it’s a solid dry skin cream, but not an especially exciting one.

Who Should Use It?

  • People with dry skin
  • Anyone looking for a richer barrier cream
  • Those who don’t mind a heavier finish in exchange for more comfort

Our Verdict

Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream is a perfectly respectable option if your skin is very dry and you want something rich and cushioning.

But if you’re looking for a moisturiser that still delivers nourishment and barrier support while feeling more modern, elegant and a lot more enjoyable to use, there are better options out there now.

A Better Alternative for Dry, Dull Skin

If you like the idea of a comforting moisturiser but want something that feels more elevated on the skin, Jelly Ko Bubble Tea Steam Cream is well worth a look.

It’s designed for dry, dull, peri, mature and dehydrated skin and gives you a nourishing, comforting feel, but in a formula that feels more polished, wearable and in line with what most people actually want from a modern moisturiser.

And unlike traditional moisturisers that stop at the first jar, Bubble Tea Steam Cream is also available as a refill, so if you fall in love with it, you can keep your routine going with less waste.
