• Seoul Metro is receiving 380 million won from Amorepacific, which will go towards making up for growing losses.

Korea’s MFDS Bans A Chemical in Hair Dye 

• Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) is banning 1,2,4-trihydroxybenzene (1,2,4-THB) in hair dyes.
• The legislation will be finalised by the first half of this year and a grace period of six months will be extended to companies using this ingredient.

• The ban arose from concerns about potential genotoxicity and skin sensitization.

• The European Commission has also banned this ingredient.
