The Surprising K-Beauty Product Going Viral in Thailand
COSMAX, one of the leading OEM / ODM manufacturers in Korea has shared the surprising product going viral in Thailand - its a small-capacity cosmetic patch. They've sold 80 million of them this year already and have no plans to slow down.
So what are the products? They're tiny pouches usually used for sample sizes in other countries. But in Thailand, they've established themselves as their own product category. Great for 1-4 uses, these tiny pouches are being used by Thai consumers to try a range of different products. They can be used to hold lotions, creams, SPF, sleeping masks and even lip tint and mascara.
COSMAX announced that it plans to produce another 22 million of them by the end of the year. They're going so viral that sales will represent approximately 30% of COSMAX Thailand's total sales!
Korea's MFDS Cracks Down on Unfair and Misleading Marketing Tactics
The MFDS is once again cracking down on unfair advertising. Products claiming to produce therapeutic or drug like benefits (whitening, improving wrinkles) etc need to have the proper certifications to make these claims. However, more than 200 cases and 226 violations were discovered, particularly amongst online ads. Many of the contravening ads included false and/or exaggerated claims about ordinary cosmetic products. In addition, false or misleading images were also caught up. Scar creams were a culprit here too.
Question of the Week: Best Products for Teen Skin?
Teens face some specific skincare concerns driven by hormonal changes, excess sebum and acne. One of the great benefits of K-Beauty is that it’s focused on promoting healthy and well-nourished skin. This makes it ideal for teen skin, albeit with a few tweaks.
