STYLE STORY recently attended the Cosmo Beauty Expo 2019 held at COEX in Seoul, Korea.
We had an absolute ball discovering some of Korea’s emerging K-Beauty trends, as well as a huge range of exciting new skincare products, ingredients and technologies.
The Latest In Korean Beauty
Vegan and organic skincare are making a massive impact this year, and the push towards smaller batch, handmade items is continuing. We saw hand-made face soaps, hair masks, body soaps and more, as well as plenty more new hair care and body care brands.
The soap-craze is continuing with the new breed of facial soaps suitable for a wide range of skin types. In addition to soothing, natural and even cruelty-free formulas, some of the latest Korean soaps don’t change shape after use, others come in their own hygienic foaming nets (to contain any mess and help store them hygienically) and most of them can even be broken into smaller pieces so you only use a little at a time!
Also attending this year’s Expo were companies specialising in cosmetic packaging, accessories (like foundation sponges and makeup brushes), cosmetic production companies, home-spa equipment and more!

Up-And-Coming Korean Beauty Ingredients
As always with K-Beauty, there were plenty of innovative new ingredients and technologies, including waffle textured face masks, neo-bubble face oil technology, natural aroma oils and room sprays and sheet masks made for the butt!!
New Korean Brands And Products
Some of our favourites from this year’s expo were:
“Neo Bubble” – an oil formula containing tiny capsules that dissolve on the skin.
“Butt Mask” – a sheet mask for the butt claiming to firm, lift and reinvigorate your butt skin. Would you? Could you? On the butt?!
Commleaf – one of our favourite new brands, this 100% cruelty-free brand has been making waves in the international beauty community thanks to its luxurious packaging and natural formulas brimming with K-Beauty’s favourite ingredients. With EWG certification for its plant extracts, Commleaf creates products using ingredients of natural origin that give strength to exhausted skin. Look out for:
