K-beauty Bridal Skincare Routine

K-beauty Bridal Skincare Routine

You’ve found the *one* and now you’re prepping for the big day! Congratulations!! No doubt there’s plenty on your to-do list, so we’ll keep the skincare side as short and sweet as possible.

Get set to shine with our guide to the best K-Beauty bridal skincare routine.

Golden Rules

Before we get down to business, there are a few “golden rules” that will get your skin sorted with as little stress as possible (yes, really!)

1 Don’t Leave Skincare Until The Last Minute

It may seem obvious, but the longer you have to correct any skin issues, the better. If you have any big issues like acne, stubborn melasma, rosacea or hard-to-budge pigmentation, you’ll need time to correct these.

2 Beautiful Bridal Makeup Starts With Good Skin

Skin first, makeup second. That’s the K-Beauty philosophy and is more true than ever when you’re prepping for the big day.

The best makeup artist in the world won’t be able to hide bad skin, so make sure you’ve got the best canvas you can.

3 Manage Stress

Easier said than done, we know, but stress can wreak havoc on the complexion. Try to maintain your stress levels as best you can, whether it be a session at the gym, a mind-clearing meditation or a simple cup of tea.

Keep cool, and let’s get married!

Your Skincare Timeline

Use this simple guide to help plan your wedding skincare treatments:

12 – 6 Months Before The Wedding

Go for the big guns.

If you want to try lasers or other professional treatments, now is the ideal time to do it. Don’t leave this stuff too close to the wedding, or you risk side effects that you hadn’t bargained for, as well as skin that’s potentially stressed out, breaking out or blotchy.

6-3 Months Before The Wedding

Stick to a simple skincare routine, with a focus on acidsto assist with dead skin removal. BHAs and AHAs will help you avoid shelling out for more expensive treatments like microdermabrasion.

Be religious about your sun protection in the months leading up to the wedding – patchy skin is nobody’s ideal of #skingoals.

3 Months To 6 Weeks Before The Wedding

Your focus now should be on hydrating and brightening. Keep an eye out for ingredients like galactomyces, hyaluronic acid, propolis, niacinamide and snail mucin, which are great are evening out the skin’s tone and getting rid of any spots.

Now is also a good time to start with some simple Korean facial massage techniques to improve your circulation and de-puff your face.

6 Weeks Before To The Night Before The Wedding

Keep your routine simple, sticking to products you know work for your skin. Now is not the time to be introducing new products into your routine – instead, stick to tried and tested products to avoid any adverse reactions.

The Day Of The Wedding

Time to get glowing!

Start your day by double cleansing, and then begin your treatments. We recommend starting off with a soothing eye mask to help de-puff and brighten your eyes, a quick Vitamin C boost to get you glowing and then a good face mask to plump and boost the complexion.

Follow your face mask with a mix of serums containing hyaluronic acid, galactomycesand propolis.

Use your regular moisturiser and make sure you don’t skip the sunscreen. If you’re worried about your sunscreen interacting with the photographer’s flash, take some test shots before the big day (when you are having your makeup trial is a great time!)

Last but not least, don’t forget to pack a misting spray in case you need a quick pep up throughout the day.
