Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum Review

Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum Review

Brian is reviewing Innisfree’s cult-favourite Green Tea Seed Serum. It’s a much hyped K-beauty product from the brand’s Green Tea collection for oily skin.

Does it live up to its reputation?

Here’s our Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum review.

What Is It?

Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum is a lightweight serum for oily skin that contains 100% Organic Green Tea Water.

Like the rest of Innisfree’s products, many of the natural extracts in the serum come from Korea’s Jeju Island, which is known for its pristine nature, and has plentiful green tea plantations.

What’s In It?

There are a couple of standout ingredients in the formula, the first obviously being green tea. This is a great ingredient for stressed skin, as it’s an antioxidant and an anti-inflammatory. It offers hydrating benefits and is ideal for skin that has suffered from damage or trauma, including acne.

The second key ingredient is panthenol – the provitamin of Vitamin B5. It helps to keep skin hydrated and can reduce itchiness and inflammation.

The humectant (water-binding ingredient) in the formula is betaine – an anti-irritant known to nourish skin without leaving it sticky.

What Does It Do?

I’ve been using this in summer in Korea (where it’s hot, humid and sticky), and have found it’s really helped to reduce the oiliness in my skin. I’m oily and acne prone and the serum has a matte finish, which is ideal for both my skin and the hot months generally.

How Do You Use It?

The instructions say to use it straight after you cleanse your face, but I have just been using it like I do with a regular serum. I apply my snail essence first and then put it on after that.

What Results Do You Notice Using It?

I’ve noticed a skin brightening effect, as well as a better balance of oil and moisture in my skin.

Who Should Use It?

People with oily skin – if ordinary serums turn you into an oil slick, this product will be a great fit.

People who need less hydration in summer – if you find your regular serums are just too thick in summer, this one would be a good one to swap over to for the hotter months. Ditto if you live in humid climates (North Queensland, I’m looking at you).

People who don’t like overpowering smells – this serum has a very minimal, inoffensive smell – not like green tea, but more like a fresh, summer smell.

Final Verdict?

This serum definitely lives up to the hype – it’s awesome!

It’s perfect for summer skin and is made for oily skin like mine. It’s very light so the serum glides on easily and dries quickly. The thing I like about it the most is that because the formula is so light it doesn’t make me look greasy.
