Heimish All Clean Balm Review
Today we’re taking a look at a K-Beauty product that’s been quickly climbing through the ranks to claim a top spot amongst beloved Korean cleansers.
Read on for our Heimish All Clean Balm review.
WHAT IS IT?
Heimish All Clean Balm (120ml).
It’s a hypoallergenic cleansing balm designed to be used as the first step of the Double Cleanse method.
Heimish is a relatively new Korean Beauty label that was launched in 2016. The brand’s philosophy is to create simple, clean products that give an “effortlessly chic complexion”. All Clean Balm is the brand’s signature product, and the one that quickly gained popularity in overseas markets. For more about the differences between K-Beauty products that are popular in Korea vs overseas check out the Korean Beauty Show podcast Episode 15.
In a short time, it has gained a massive following in western countries and is regularly pegged as a rival product to Banila Co’s cult-favourite Clean it Zero.
WHAT DOES IT CLAIM TO DO?
Heimish claims that the cleanser washes away thick makeup, dirt and buildup, without tugging or irritating sensitive skin.
It comes in a handy tub packaging with a flip-top lid and a spatula to use with it. You can use the spatula to dig the product out of the pot, so you don’t need to use your hands.

HOW DO YOU USE ALL CLEAN BALM?
So, the first thing to note about cleansing balms, including this one, is that these product aren’t designed to be used on their own. They are the first of your two cleansers.
Cleansing balms are designed to completely remove makeup, sunscreen and dirt. However, if you stop there and don’t follow up with a water based cleanser like a cleansing foam, your face may still feel like it has a film on it. This is because the remnants of the balm won’t have washed away. These products really are a two-step deal.
The idea behind cleansing balms is that they go on a solid balm, and then transforms into a silky oil cleanser once they touch your face.
Apply it to dry skin, then massage it into your face for a few minutes. Once the product has thoroughly removed your makeup and SPF, rinse it off with lukewarm water.
WHAT RESULTS WILL YOU NOTICE?
Makeup and sunscreen are easily removed without you needing to tug or rub at your face. You won’t need any fancy cleansing devices or pads, which aren’t great for the face anyway.
Skin is left hydrated and comfortable, ready for your second step of cleansing.
WHO SHOULD USE HEIMISH’S BALM?
We’ve found Heimish’s balm cleanser to be a good option for:
- All Skin Types – except sensitive skin.
- Anyone who needs to avoid alcohol in their skincare products
WHO SHOULDN’T USE IT?
There are a few groups who should be cautious with the product though. They include:
- Anyone sensitive to essential oils. This is not a great product for people that are sensitive to essential oils. The fragrance can be quite overpowering compared to other cleansing balms on the market
- People who don’t like fragranced products. The fruit oil fragrance can be quite overpowering compared to other cleansing balms on the market.
- Very sensitive skin types. For people with very sensitive skin, they can feel a stinging or burning sensation when applying the balm near their eyes.
TL;DR – HEIMISH ALL CLEAN BALM REVIEW
Heimish’s All Clean Balm is a K-Beauty first cleanser that rivals Banila Co’s Clean it Zero in terms of popularity. It’s a good option for anyone who’s skin isn’t super sensitive or reactive to sensitive oils. It’s not the best option if you’re not a fan of fragrances, but is a good choice for those looking to avoid parabens, silicones, alcohol, sulfates and mineral oil.
